The Slovak Union of Visual Arts och Petrzalka stadsdels kulturcentrum \u00e4r organisat\u00f6rer av symposiet. De beskriver projektet s\u00e5 h\u00e4r.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 The sculpture symposium directly responds to the current need to cultivate public space from sustainable sources: the rebirth of trees = TREENCARNATION. The aim of the project is to use the trees cut down and removed due to the construction of a new tram line in Petr\u017ealka District in Bratislava, to create sculptures. Some of the trees that had to step aside will thus have a chance for a ”second life”: they will return to the community in a new form, either as functional practical elements enriching the public space (benches, playground elements, information and direction signs) or as works of art, co-creating the character of the place. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Timber from felled trees suitable for such ”recycling” has already been sorted and stored in the Petr\u017ealka District. An important moment of symposium will be the involvement of residents into the process – the possibility of observing working artists in the area, accompanying events – lectures, networking with artists, opening ceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lars Apelmo och Per Brandstedt var tv\u00e5 av symposiets 15 deltagare. Deltagarna kom fr\u00e5n sex olika europeiska l\u00e4nder fr\u00e5n Grekland i s\u00f6der till Island i norr.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

15 konstn\u00e4rer arbetar tillsammans under tv\u00e5 veckor med att f\u00f6rvandla stockarna fr\u00e5n tr\u00e4d som avverkades d\u00e4r stadsdelen Petrzalkas nya sp\u00e5rv\u00e4gslinje ska byggas till skulpturer som ska ge tr\u00e4den ett andra liv – Treencarnation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
